Sava raises $8 million Seed to begin wider clinical validation

Balderton Capital and Exor Ventures co-led the round to develop manufacturing and validate the glucose microsensor.

Sava Technologies announced $8 million in Seed funding on June 21, 2024, as it emerged from stealth. Balderton Capital and Exor Ventures led the investment.

The London company planned to expand its team, develop a product line suited to high-throughput manufacturing and demonstrate clinical performance.

Sava had received MHRA permission to proceed with a clinical trial in people with diabetes. A study with investigators at Oxford and Cambridge would test its microsensor, whose first application was continuous glucose monitoring. Trial permission was a step toward validation, rather than approval to sell the device.
