The thesis

Rounds rarely stall on the pitch. They stall in the gaps.

A great first meeting means nothing if the thread goes quiet for nine days. This audit scores where the operating work is breaking down.

Momentum is the asset

Investors move on signal and speed. Every day a thread sits cold, your round looks less inevitable.

The leak is usually one stage

Most stalled rounds are not broken everywhere. One stage is bleeding, and fixing it restarts the pipeline.

The output is action

The useful answer is not a dashboard. It is the three moves to make this week and what to stop doing.

Methodology

How the score is built

An operational diagnostic, not a financing prediction. The health score starts at 100 and subtracts weighted penalties.

# core componentspipeline_coverage = weighted_active / required_activestaleness_penalty = stale_threads x severitydiligence_penalty = aged_open_asks / late_stage_volumelead_risk = no_lead and late_conversationshealth = 100 - sum(weighted penalties)primary_leak = max(penalty category)

The score is directional. It mirrors the judgment an experienced operator makes when reading your tracker.

The primary leak is the category with the largest penalty. Fix that first because momentum compounds.

Failure modes

What each leak usually means

Follow-up leak

Threads are going cold and promised intros never got sent. This is common and highly fixable.

Diligence leak

Open asks are aging. Answered diligence beats more outreach when a lead could form.

Lead / anchor leak

Late-stage conversations exist, but nobody is willing to be first. The round needs an anchor.

FAQ

Questions founders ask

What is a fundraising leak?

A fundraising leak is a stage where momentum drains: cold follow-ups, weak response, stale diligence asks, missing lead pressure, or not enough active investors.

What is a good score?

Above 75 means the round is operating cleanly. 55-75 means one stage is leaking and worth fixing this week. Below 55 means momentum is actively draining.
