A scattered set of early fundraising tasks gathering into one continuous process
Pre-seed fundraising

Look prepared before you have a fundraising team.

Build a credible room in an afternoon, see who is reading it and keep every conversation moving without a fundraising team behind you.

Data Room free forever. Add Operator when follow-through becomes the job.
At pre-seed, you are the process

Every follow-up matters when the founder is the fundraising team.

Warm intros arrive unevenly, the deck changes after every useful conversation and the investor list lives somewhere between a spreadsheet and memory. One missed reply or one stale attachment can cost the attention the round needs.

Five distinct marks representing the minimum set of materials in a credible pre-seed room
The minimum credible room

Everything needed for the first serious yes.

One clear place for the few materials that answer the first real questions, not a Series A archive spread across five attachments and three threads.

The first investor list

A short list, sent with context.

Keep check size, fit, relationship and access route beside each investor. Then send a named room link, so a return visit belongs to the right conversation instead of becoming anonymous traffic.

Warm Mutual connection and intro path attached
Direct Existing relationship and last touch visible
Cold Fit reason clear before outreach begins

References and the retention curve you asked for

Between meetings

RoundOS keeps the work visible while you run the round alone.

The last thread, meeting context, room activity and open ask can arrive beside a prepared follow-up. Review the reason, edit the message and decide whether it should go out.

A recipient returning from one viewing session to another, creating a stronger signal
Repeat attention

A second look should change what you do next.

One open can be curiosity. A return to the deck or model is different. RoundOS keeps sessions separate and ties them back to the named recipient, so the follow-up can reflect real attention instead of guesswork.

Read the signal

Know who read, what held attention and who came back.

See named viewers, sessions, total time, pages seen, longest page and return visits. The point is not another analytics dashboard; it is knowing which conversation deserves the next hour.

Pre-seed readiness

Before the first real outreach push.

Six concrete things to prepare once, so the round does not begin by rebuilding the same context for every investor.

01 · Deck

One current story.

Uploaded in the order you want it read.

02 · One-pager

A fast introduction.

Useful in the email and available in the room.

03 · Model

The first financial answer.

Simple is fine. Current is essential.

04 · Cap table

No stale attachment.

The version in the room matches the round today.

05 · Investor list

Fit before volume.

Warm, direct and cold routes stay distinguishable.

06 · Named links

Ready before send.

Each important recipient gets a trackable path into the room.

Questions

Pre-seed fundraising, answered.

01 Do I need a full data room this early?

You need a credible one, not an institutional archive. A deck, one-pager, basic model, current cap table and useful product proof are enough to prevent the first serious investor from having to request every missing piece separately.

02 Is this too much structure for a small round?

No. The Data Room stays free and the structure is intentionally light. It matters most when there is no fundraising team to catch stale files, missed replies or lost context.

03 Can I set this up before outreach starts?

Yes. Building the room and investor list first means the system is ready when the first introduction lands, rather than being assembled under pressure after the call is booked.

04 What does Operator add at this stage?

Operator keeps the live investor list, relationship context, warm paths and prepared follow-up visible when the work begins exceeding what you can reliably hold in your head.

05 Do I need Operator to use the room?

No. The Data Room works on its own and is free. Operator is the optional operating layer for the pipeline, research and founder-reviewed follow-through.
