Octopath AI launches with GBP1.5 million in Seed investment and grant funding
Twin Path Ventures leads the investment, paired with a GBP500,000 Innovate UK grant to advance AI tissue analysis.
Octopath AI has launched with GBP1.5 million in combined Seed investment and grant funding, UCL announced on November 2. Twin Path Ventures led the investment. The package includes a GBP500,000 Innovate UK Growth Catalyst grant unlocked by the Seed round on a matched basis.
The funding will support clinical evaluation, regulatory and quality-management work, product development and commercial activity. The UCL spinout is developing AI tools to extract cell-level measurements from routine tissue slides for pathology and cancer research.
The company has been selected for Phase 2 of the MHRA’s AI Airlock regulatory sandbox and is working towards regulatory approval. UCL said its technology was deployed at five sites, including UCLH, and was being used to analyse samples from four additional clinical trials.
