InhalPlus secures €500,000 pre-seed from NBank Capital
The Fraunhofer ITEM spinout will develop its neonatal inhalation prototype, prepare regulatory work and expand its team ahead of a planned clinical study.
A first external investor
NBank Capital has invested €500,000 in InhalPlus, becoming the Hanover medtech company’s first external investor. The financing forms its pre-seed round, according to NBank’s 20 October announcement.
InhalPlus was founded in August as a spinout from Fraunhofer ITEM and holds an exclusive licence to Fraunhofer patents. The investment will also provide the company’s own contribution toward further public funding programmes.
Moving toward clinical evaluation
The company is developing a bypass system for delivering inhaled medicine to premature babies receiving breathing support. It plans an initial study at neonatal centres in early 2027. The new funding supports the transition from a clinical prototype toward a production-ready product and the regulatory work needed for later approval.
