Viridian Ingni Propulsion discloses INR500,000 NIDHI PRAYAS grant
The Chennai electric-motor developer received support through India’s prototype-development grant programme.
Viridian Ingni Propulsion had secured an INR500,000 grant through the central government’s NIDHI PRAYAS programme, according to a company feature published by Industrial Products Finder on 29 August 2024.
The startup develops electric motors using ferrite magnets and reluctance-based designs to reduce dependence on rare-earth materials. Founder Sriram Gopal described plans to develop a matching controller and move toward production for electric three-wheelers and other applications.
NIDHI PRAYAS is a Department of Science and Technology programme that supports prototype development. The grant is separate from the INR1 million SIPCOT support also described in the feature.
