MuRay secures €7.1m in private funding and public support
The Hamburg imaging company combines €3.5m in private investment with €3.6m in public funding.
MuRay has announced a €7.1 million financing package to develop active muon imaging and bring an industrial inspection service to market in 2027. The package includes €3.5 million in private investment and €3.6 million in public funding, including support from Horizon Europe.
First Momentum Ventures and Caelora co-led the private round. Superangel, Mätch VC, Arcas VC, Tiny VC and existing investor Nordic Science Investments also participated. Caelora is a subsidiary of Marvel Fusion.
The Hamburg company uses controlled muon beams to inspect dense metals, ceramics and composites without destroying them. Led by physicists Kristjan Põder and Andi Hektor, with a branch in Tallinn, it is targeting industrial components that conventional X-ray equipment struggles to image. The company plans to grow its team to as many as 25 people by the end of 2027.
