Seamoretech closes €1.1m seed first tranche for brine recovery
The Porto spin-off is turning desalination waste into freshwater and minerals as it prepares industrial deployment.
The deal
Seamoretech has raised €1.1 million in the first close of its seed round, with participation from Rypples, Seven Seas Capital and Crédito Agrícola. The company disclosed the close in an October release, ahead of further coverage in November.
The Porto company focuses on the concentrated brine left over from desalination. Its containerised system uses forward osmosis to recover freshwater and minerals from that waste stream, offering operators a route to extract useful resources from material otherwise treated as a disposal problem.
Founded as a University of Porto engineering spin-off, Seamoretech is moving towards industrial deployment. It is preparing a commercial launch in Spain in 2027 and developing pilot opportunities in Spain, Egypt and other markets. A second seed closing is planned for the coming months; the €1.1 million represents the completed first tranche.
