Cameras fitted to collection trucks record waste as bins are emptied. Sortrace uses computer vision to classify the contents and connect the resulting information with bins and collection routes, making incorrectly sorted material visible.

Municipalities and waste management companies can use that information to identify problem areas and assess changes to collection services or household guidance. The company combines camera sensors, image analysis and reporting rather than requiring a separate manual survey of every bin.
