Seamoretech develops systems that recover freshwater and critical minerals from the concentrated brine left by desalination.

Company

Seamoretech is a Porto-based cleantech company that turns desalination brine into freshwater and recoverable minerals. Founded in 2021 as a spin-off from the University of Porto’s Faculty of Engineering, it works with partners in desalination and other water-intensive industries.

Its containerised system uses forward osmosis to recover water alongside minerals such as magnesium and calcium. The company is preparing industrial deployment and developing pilot opportunities in markets including Spain and Egypt.
