Longshot secures $5 million from South Park Commons for kinetic launch technology

The June investment brings the defence and space company’s total funding to $20 million.

Longshot announced a $5 million investment from South Park Commons on June 23, 2026. The new capital brought its total funding to $20 million.

The Alameda, California company will use the investment to develop and test its multi-injection accelerator and build out hypersonic testing infrastructure. The system uses timed bursts of pressurised gas to accelerate a payload along a long barrel.

Longshot is pursuing defence testing as an early market while working towards larger ground-based systems that could eventually support launches to space.
