Lazzaro One secures pre-seed backing for maritime intelligence
IBB Ventures’ B# fund backs HUAX development, a larger Berlin technology team and a planned monitoring desk in Naples.
Lazzaro One has secured a six-figure pre-seed investment from B#, the pre-seed fund run by IBB Ventures, to develop its HUAX maritime intelligence platform. The exact amount was not disclosed.
HUAX combines mathematical models, data analysis and behavioural patterns to help organisations interpret unusual vessel activity. Its applications include identifying dark fleets that manipulate tracking systems, assessing sanctions risks and supporting route and sea-state analysis.
The Berlin startup plans to expand its development team and strengthen its headquarters as a technology hub. It also plans a Maritime Intelligence Desk in Naples to support monitoring across the Mediterranean.
Founded by Arsenio Longo and Maria Grazia Del Prete, Lazzaro One is targeting shipping companies, insurers and security authorities that need clearer explanations of vessel activity rather than more unfiltered tracking data.
