Impossible Cloud secures G+D Ventures investment for European infrastructure

The strategic backer will bring capital and security-industry expertise to the Hamburg company’s cloud storage and AI infrastructure platform.

Backing for sovereign cloud and AI

G+D Ventures has invested in Impossible Cloud, a European cloud infrastructure provider headquartered in Hamburg. The investor announced the transaction on 19 October; the amount and other financial terms were not disclosed.

Impossible Cloud combines storage and AI computing capacity from European data centres in a unified platform. Its offering includes S3-compatible object storage, dedicated GPU servers and managed inference for open-weight AI models.

A security and technology network

Co-founder and chief executive Kai Wawrzinek said G+D Ventures would provide access to a network of technology and security specialists alongside its capital. The company plans to use that relationship to accelerate growth and develop new applications for the platform. It distributes its services directly and through IT resellers and managed service providers.
