Coratia Technologies raises INR5 crore from Piper Serica Angel Fund
The underwater-robotics developer plans to expand R&D, manufacturing and international sales.
Coratia Technologies announced INR5 crore in funding from Piper Serica Angel Fund on 12 November 2025. The Odisha-based company will use the capital for research and development, additional manufacturing capacity, product upgrades and international expansion.
The investment follows a separate INR66 crore Indian Navy contract for Jalasimha, Coratia’s underwater remotely operated vehicle. Its robotic systems also serve civilian inspection and maintenance work around submerged infrastructure.
Co-founders Debendra Pradhan and Biswajit Swain are building domestic engineering and manufacturing capabilities for defence and commercial customers. The company had already carried out projects for Indian Railways and IOCL Paradip and demonstrated its systems in Brunei for offshore-energy applications.
