Y Combinator (YC)
Activity from announced rounds
Y Combinator funds early-stage startups through a three-month accelerator in San Francisco, with four batches a year and a standard $500,000 investment for accepted companies.
The investment consists of $125,000 for 7% of the company and $375,000 on an uncapped SAFE with a most-favoured-nation provision. The second SAFE adds to YC’s ownership when it converts, so the full $500,000 is not exchanged for a fixed 7% stake.
During the batch, founders work with YC partners in individual and group office hours, build toward Demo Day and use the alumni community for feedback, hiring and introductions. Companies can apply before launch; YC also accepts businesses that already have users and revenue.
