Viridi raises £2.2 million to scale CO₂-based chemicals

Odyssey Ventures led the round, with TOP Ventures joining as a strategic investor and Alphatron participating.

Viridi has closed a £2.2 million funding round to scale its catalyst technology and expand commercially in Asia and the United States. Odyssey Ventures led the financing, joined by Alphatron, TOP Ventures and existing angel investors.

The Southampton company develops catalysts that allow chemical manufacturers to use captured carbon dioxide in products such as surfactants. Its technology is designed to work with existing manufacturing equipment.

TOP Ventures, Thaioil's venture arm, brings industrial connections in Asia, while Odyssey supports US expansion. The funding will also help Viridi strengthen its team.
