Toresyoku secures strategic investment from Nishimatsu Construction

The partners will develop a rice-husk cellulose business, beginning with a small pilot in Minamisoma.

Nishimatsu Construction announced an investment in Toresyoku on October 5, 2026, following a capital and business agreement signed on September 18. The companies did not disclose the investment amount.

Toresyoku develops cellulose materials from rice husks. The partnership combines its processing technology with Nishimatsu’s business development capabilities and local networks to connect raw-material supply, material production, product development and sales.

The partners plan to begin with a small pilot in Minamisoma and assess the results in the first half of 2027 before expanding production and commercialisation. Rice-husk cellulose can replace part of the conventional raw materials used in plastic products.
