NoorNation closes $1.05 million seed round as Linah Farms becomes an investor

The Egyptian solar-and-water startup is expanding access to irrigation through a pay-per-use model.

A customer joins the shareholder base

NoorNation closed a $1.05 million seed round backed by Linah Farms, Catalyst Fund and KBW Ventures. Founder and CEO Ragy Ramadan announced the financing at a signing event on October 26, according to EnterpriseAM, which attended the event.

Linah Farms becomes an investor after working with NoorNation on agricultural pumping, a school energy system and a hotel solar installation. The relationship gives the startup a customer and commercial partner as it expands.

Solar irrigation without buying a whole system

NoorNation supplies LifeBox solar-powered systems for electricity, pumping and water treatment. It is developing a pay-per-use irrigation model for farmers who would otherwise rely on diesel pumps or face the upfront cost of purchasing solar equipment. Linah will also support financing for that model.
