Catalyst Fund backs NoorNation’s solar-powered energy and water infrastructure
The climate investor supports expansion of decentralised infrastructure for Egyptian farms and underserved communities.
An early investment in decentralised infrastructure
Catalyst Fund announced its investment in NoorNation on November 22, 2023. The investor said its backing and venture-building support would help the company expand access to solar energy and water infrastructure. Financial terms were not disclosed in the announcement.
Supporting farmers beyond the grid
NoorNation’s LifeBox combines solar electricity with water pumping and desalination in a self-contained unit. The company serves farms and communities that face unreliable infrastructure, costly diesel supplies or saline water.
Catalyst’s support includes work on market expansion, sales and distribution, operations and technical capabilities, alongside the investment.
