Panasonic agrees €30 million equity investment in tado°
The capital alliance extends the companies’ work on smart heating and home energy management.
An investment alongside a product alliance
Panasonic Corporation announced a €30 million equity investment agreement with tado° on March 17, 2025. Panasonic would also take a board seat, extending an existing business partnership with the Munich-based home energy management company. The investor scheduled completion for the end of April.
Connecting heat pumps with household energy controls
The companies plan to combine Panasonic’s Aquarea heat pumps with tado° thermostats, heat-pump optimisation and energy services. The aim is to improve control of household heating and shift electricity demand towards cheaper periods.
The funding supports tado°’s wider home energy platform, which combines connected hardware, software and dynamic tariffs. The company said the agreement followed a partnership announced a year earlier.
