Leonardo DiCaprio invests in SolarMente’s solar subscription business
The Spanish residential solar company adds the actor as a strategic investor, with the investment amount undisclosed.
Leonardo DiCaprio became an investor in SolarMente on March 12, 2024. The company did not disclose the size of his investment. His backing supported a business built around monthly solar subscriptions that let households adopt rooftop panels without paying the installation cost upfront.
The subscription included installation, maintenance and insurance, with batteries, electric vehicle charging and heat pumps offered as additions. SolarMente was also developing energy management tools and a virtual battery service for putting surplus generation to use. The company’s earlier financing arrangements were separate from DiCaprio’s personal investment.
