Product

The Barcelona company was founded in 2020 by Wouter Draijer and Victor Gardrinier to help households adopt rooftop solar without buying an installation upfront. Its subscription covered equipment installation, maintenance and insurance, with optional batteries, electric vehicle chargers and heat pumps.

SolarMente also developed a virtual battery service for allocating surplus solar energy to later consumption or other properties. In April 2026, pv magazine reported that the company had filed for insolvency proceedings in Barcelona.
