QioN wins research grant for electrochemical ammonia devices
The Osaka company is developing equipment that uses clean electricity to produce ammonia.
QioN has received a research and development grant from the Mitsubishi UFJ Technology Development Foundation for the development and commercialisation of electrochemical ammonia-synthesis devices.
The project targets the equipment needed to turn clean electricity into ammonia. QioN’s intended applications span fertilizer and chemical inputs, renewable-power storage, and fuels, linking the development work to several uses for the same molecule.
Use of funds
Develop and commercialise electrochemical ammonia-synthesis devices.
