Pascal raises $8.5m seed extension for solid-refrigerant cooling
Sazze Partners and LB Investment co-led the follow-on as Pascal prepares a beverage-industry pilot.
Pascal has raised $8.5 million in a follow-on to its seed round, co-led by Sazze Partners and LB Investment, with KDB Silicon Valley also participating. Chief executive Adam Slavney disclosed the financing in an interview with TechCrunch published on 21 October 2026.
The company signed a pilot contract with a multinational beverage business earlier than expected, helping bring the financing together. It is targeting a first prototype in early 2027 and a subsequent batch of more developed refrigerators in 2028.
Pascal uses carbon dioxide and a porous solid material to transfer heat through pressure changes. Its commercial challenge is to build that process into practical refrigeration equipment. The pilot will provide a step from laboratory development towards operation at a customer site.
