Photography Based Therapeutics receives Mindset backing for emotional-expression app
Photography Based Therapeutics leads an Innovate UK-funded project combining photography, AR and AI for young people's emotional expression.
Photography Based Therapeutics was named as a funded lead in Innovate UK's Mindset announcement on 11 September 2025. The company is developing a mobile application that uses images to help young people express and explore emotions.
The University of Surrey is leading the academic research within a collaboration that also includes rb&hArts and AI By Design. Young people can edit photographs with augmented-reality tools or create images with generative AI where taking pictures is impractical.
The company's individual allocation was not disclosed. The wider announcement covered more than £3.6 million across 17 projects.
