mamun raises $3m seed round for Gulf–Asia trade finance
Phaze Ventures’ Oman Fund leads the financing, with Jasoor Ventures backing AI origination and underwriting.
mamun has raised $3 million in seed funding led by Phaze Ventures through its Oman Fund, with participation from Jasoor Ventures. The capital will support AI-based origination and underwriting along trade routes linking the Greater Bay Area, Oman and the UAE.
The Muscat company connects businesses with investors to finance imports, exports and working capital. Its underwriting evaluates the company behind a trade alongside the buyer, contracts, shipping documents and trading history.
Founded in 2019 by Saleh Al Tamami, Mohammed Al Tamami and Ahmed Al-Issaei, mamun operates within Oman’s Financial Services Authority crowdfunding framework and has entities in Abu Dhabi and Hong Kong. The structure supports transactions that cross banking and regulatory jurisdictions.
The company says roughly 40% of its trade-finance settlements already clear through Hong Kong institutions and businesses. The new seed capital is intended to increase the volume of trade that mamun can originate, assess and finance.
