Machenta raises $40m seed round for robot learning AI
Creandum and Union Square Ventures co-led the financing for the London startup founded by Edward Johns and Vitalis Vosylius.
Funding a robot learning model
Machenta has raised $40 million in seed funding co-led by Creandum and Union Square Ventures. The company will use the capital to develop its technology and expand its London team.
Teaching robots with fewer demonstrations
Co-founders Edward Johns and Vitalis Vosylius are building an AI model trained in simulated environments. Machenta says the model can help robots perform a new physical task after seeing a single demonstration.
The team is targeting work such as packing, assembly and tidying. Johns, a professor at Imperial College London, developed the research behind the business with Vosylius, his PhD student.
