Investing in fusion infrastructure
The funding will advance its UNITY integration projects in Japan, Canada and the United States, expand gyrotron manufacturing and strengthen global research and business development. These systems address plasma heating, tritium fuel cycles and the conversion of fusion heat into usable energy.
New equity participants include the IMM Japan Japan-Korea Fusion Fund, SiteGround Capital, GX Acceleration Agency, Development Bank of Japan, East Japan Railway and Minerva Growth Partners. Existing investors also participated.
Equity and lending partners
SMBC Venture Capital, Kyoto Capital Partners, JIC Venture Growth Investments, Daiwa Corporate Investment, DBJ Capital and MUFG Bank provided follow-on equity. The named debt and credit providers are Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, the Bank of Kyoto, Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank and Mizuho Bank. Two additional equity investors and one bank were unnamed.
