Kyoto Fusioneering
Japan · Climate tech · Industrial tech
Kyoto Fusioneering develops plasma-heating, fuel-cycle and heat-management systems for fusion-energy projects.
Engineering the systems around fusion
Kyoto Fusioneering supplies and develops the infrastructure that fusion projects need around their reactor cores. Its work includes gyrotrons for plasma heating, tritium fuel-cycle systems, and breeding-blanket and thermal-cycle technology.
The company works across reactor approaches, combining equipment development with engineering and integration rather than depending on a single fusion-reactor design.
Testing integrated systems
Its UNITY programme develops integrated demonstrations in Japan, Canada and the United States. UNITY-1 addresses heat and power systems; UNITY-2 develops a tritium fuel system with Canadian Nuclear Laboratories; UNITY-3 is planned for blanket irradiation testing with US national-laboratory partners.
The company is expanding gyrotron production and its international engineering and business-development capacity as fusion projects move toward demonstration plants.
