IFC takes equity stake in Senegalese healthtech KERA
The investment backs KERA’s Seed financing as it develops digital healthcare and insurance services.
IFC first disclosed a proposed equity investment of up to $10 million in KERA Health Platforms on June 3, 2025. Approval followed on June 26, the agreement was signed on July 22 and IFC completed its investment on July 31.
KERA builds digital services for Senegal’s healthcare system, linking providers, patients and insurance products. Faster payments and integrated health services are intended to reduce out-of-pocket costs and help extend coverage to people working outside formal employment.
IFC’s role also includes supporting KERA’s corporate governance as the company develops its products and pursues expansion across the West African Economic and Monetary Union.
