JEPLAN secures GX Acceleration Agency investment for PET recycling
The Japanese recycling company will improve its chemical process and expand the range of PET products it can recycle.
JEPLAN has raised equity through a third-party share allotment to Japan’s GX Acceleration Agency. The company announced the investment on August 24, 2026; the amount was not disclosed.
Expanding circular PET supply
The investment will support improvements to JEPLAN’s chemical-recycling process and expansion beyond bottles into polyester textiles and industrial films. The process breaks used PET down to molecular building blocks, removes impurities and produces recycled material for new products.
JEPLAN operates recycling plants at two sites in Japan and also develops technology-licensing business. It aims to broaden domestic recycled-PET supply while reducing reliance on new petroleum-derived inputs.
