BioBright receives £60,000 BGV programme investment

BGV backed BioBright’s work combining algae and environmental monitoring for ports in its Spring 2025 cohort.

BioBright joined Bethnal Green Ventures’ Spring 2025 Tech for Good cohort, announced on 24 March 2025. The programme offered a £60,000 investment to each selected business.

Vanessa and Ayrton Barzasi were combining algae cultivation with live monitoring to help ports measure carbon capture and the removal of water pollutants.

The monitoring component was intended to show how the algae performed in practice. This gave ports information on carbon capture and pollutant absorption alongside the biological treatment itself.
