Tend VR receives Mindset funding for depression research

Tend VR is researching community delivery of virtual-reality mindfulness-based cognitive therapy with Innovate UK backing.

Tend VR was named as a funded lead in Innovate UK's Mindset announcement on 11 September 2025. Working with the Eastern Academic Health Science Network, the company is researching virtual-reality mindfulness-based cognitive therapy for treatment-resistant depression.

The project investigates accessibility, acceptability and indicators of efficacy in community settings. Tend VR develops a headset-based mindfulness programme with a companion mobile app and support materials for delivery partners.

UKRI announced more than £3.6 million across 17 projects. Tend VR's individual grant allocation was not disclosed.
