Reverion raises $175 million to scale reversible power plants
Its solid-oxide system can generate electricity from biogas or use surplus power to produce storable gas.
One system, two operating modes
In power mode, Reverion’s solid-oxide fuel cells convert gas electrochemically and can separate concentrated carbon dioxide from the fuel stream. With biogas, the captured carbon is biogenic. In reverse mode, the system uses excess electricity to produce storable gases.
Scaling a modular plant
Reverion says its M-series plants are in customer operation and series production. The funding will support a German production site and a tenfold increase in manufacturing capacity, while its H-series electrolysis product continues toward market readiness.
