Prometheus emerges with $6.2 billion in initial funding
Jeff Bezos and Vik Bajaj are developing AI for engineering and manufacturing physical products.
Prometheus had secured $6.2 billion in initial funding, partly from co-founder Jeff Bezos, according to a November 17, 2025 New York Times report citing three people familiar with the company. Bezos was taking a co-chief executive role alongside scientist and entrepreneur Vik Bajaj.
The startup aimed to apply AI to engineering and manufacturing in areas including computers, aerospace and automobiles. Its research sought to build systems that could learn from physical-world experimentation as well as digital information.
