Ponda closes roughly £1.4 million equity crowdfund

The seed extension supports production of BioPuff insulation and a wetland-based material supply chain.

Ponda completed an equity crowdfunding campaign in August 2026, raising roughly £1.4 million in a seed extension. The Republic Europe campaign is marked funded on August 26, and the company subsequently announced the campaign’s completion.

The Bristol biomaterials company plans to scale manufacturing, develop commercial partnerships and expand the infrastructure connecting wetland farms with textile production. Its first product, BioPuff, turns bulrush fibres into insulation for clothing and outdoor equipment.

Ponda’s model gives farmers a market for crops grown on restored wetlands. The financing supports its move from pilot activity towards larger commercial production, combining material development with a growing agricultural supply network. Campaign investors receive Series Seed shares in the company.
