New Dimension DNA Kenkyusho wins JPY2m rice-cultivation grant
The research project targets environmental controls for four annual harvests in plant factories.
New Dimension DNA Kenkyusho has won a JPY2 million excellence award in The Senshu Ikeda Bank, Ltd.’s 22nd Innovation Research and Development Grant programme, announced on March 2.
The project develops environmental controls for plant-factory cultivation of rice, targeting four harvests a year. Kobe Shoin University is listed as the collaborating institution.
The company develops Koshihikari rice varieties using genome-guided breeding and sells seeds. The grant-backed work explores how those varieties could support production in controlled growing environments.
