MucoLife wins SEK 1 million Vinnova grant to scale COPD drug manufacturing
The grant supports production and purification of investigational inhaled peptide MLT-001 as the Swedish company prepares for clinical development.
MucoLife Therapeutics has secured SEK 1 million from Vinnova to develop scalable manufacturing of MLT-001, an inhaled peptide designed to dissolve airway mucus plugs in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
The Gothenburg company will work with a contract development and manufacturing partner on purification, documented yields and a transferable process. The project will also prepare a control strategy for later Good Manufacturing Practice production.
MLT-001 remains an investigational, preclinical compound. Establishing a repeatable manufacturing process is part of MucoLife’s work toward clinical studies.
