Mistral secures $830 million debt financing for GPU infrastructure
Seven banks financed a 13,800-GPU installation near Paris for AI model training and inference.
Mistral AI secured $830 million in limited recourse financing for GPU infrastructure at its data centre in Bruyères-le-Châtel, France, according to a March 30, 2026 announcement by lenders’ counsel Linklaters.
The lending consortium comprised Bpifrance, BNP Paribas, Crédit Agricole CIB, HSBC, La Banque Postale, MUFG and Natixis.
The financing covers installation, operation and maintenance of 13,800 NVIDIA GB300 GPUs. The infrastructure is intended to train Mistral’s models and those of its customers, and to provide inference services.
The project was expected to become operational in the second quarter of 2026 and bring Mistral’s powered capacity to 44 MW. It forms part of the company’s wider plan for European computing capacity.
