Makr Microsystems raises ₹10.2 crore seed to inspect beneath chip surfaces
The seed funding supports customer validation and commercial preparation for nanoscale metrology tools that reveal structures hidden below semiconductor layers.
Seeing structures that optical inspection misses
MAKR is developing subsurface imaging tools for semiconductor manufacturers. Its Acoustic Atomic Force Microscopy combines atomic-force measurements with acoustic sensing to inspect below a chip’s surface without damaging the sample; the company is also developing optical tomography and 3D analytics.
These tools target inspection teams that need to measure structures beneath opaque layers. The product is in customer validation and preparation for commercial deployment, making manufacturing readiness a central step after the seed round.
Backing a specialised inspection tool
Bluehill VC led the ₹10.2 crore seed round, with Artha Venture Fund also participating. Makr Microsystems plans to use the capital to advance its metrology products as chipmakers seek finer measurements of increasingly complex devices.
Use of funds
Develop the subsurface metrology technology
Validate it with semiconductor customers
