KineDB raises €850k pre-seed for a database that works online and offline
Superhero Capital leads the financing for a database engine designed to run on devices and in the cloud.
KineDB has raised €850,000 in pre-seed funding led by Superhero Capital, with NGL Ventures and angel investors Jussi Pyörre, Kristoffer Abell and Jakob Lilholm also participating.
Founded by Axel Löwenhoff and Allan Zimmermann, the Danish company is building a single database engine that runs locally inside applications and across cloud infrastructure. It aims to let developers keep working with the same system when devices lose connectivity, then synchronise changes when a connection returns.
An initial use case is underground mining, where workers need to record progress or equipment conditions on mobile devices without reliable internet access. KineDB is developing the platform with design partners, with broader applications planned beyond offline data management.
