Braid raises $38m Series A for embedded mobile connectivity

Octopus Ventures leads the first external round for the company formerly known as Next Communications.

Braid has raised $38 million in Series A funding led by Octopus Ventures, with KPN Ventures participating. The company announced the round on 29 October 2026 alongside its rebrand from Next Communications.

The Hague-based business gives enterprises an API for embedding SIM and eSIM connectivity into their products or launching branded mobile storefronts. Its platform connects more than 600 carrier networks across over 200 countries and serves close to 90 enterprise customers.

Braid plans to use the capital to expand internationally, deepen its carrier network and develop its underlying infrastructure. Founded in 2023, the company says this is its first external financing and that it is profitable and cash-flow positive.
