iPremom raises €15m seed for early pregnancy-risk testing
The Spanish company will complete validation and commercial rollout of a blood test that helps clinicians assess preeclampsia risk from week nine.
A blood test to inform earlier prenatal care
iPremom’s MaiRa test analyzes cell-free RNA in a maternal blood sample collected from around weeks 9–14 of pregnancy. Its predictive model estimates preeclampsia risk before symptoms appear, giving clinicians information they can use to plan monitoring or consider preventive measures; the test supports risk assessment and is not a diagnosis.
The €15 million seed round will fund clinical validation, commercial rollout and regulatory approvals in Europe and the United States. Amadeus Capital Partners led the round, with Asabys Partners co-leading through Sabadell Asabys II and APEX Ventures participating. iPremom says its model was developed using more than 26,000 samples from over 10,000 pregnancies, and MaiRa is already available in Spain under prescription.
