iPremom offers MaiRa, a clinician-prescribed prenatal blood test that estimates a pregnant woman’s risk of preeclampsia from week 9. It analyzes cell-free RNA in maternal blood with a proprietary predictive algorithm, giving obstetric teams an early risk report to guide monitoring and preventive decisions; it is a risk-assessment tool, not a diagnostic test.
A clinician orders a maternal blood sample from around weeks 9–14 of pregnancy. iPremom’s laboratory analyzes circulating cell-free RNA using molecular sequencing and applies a proprietary predictive algorithm to estimate preeclampsia risk. The company says it provides a report in about three weeks; the clinician interprets the result and can adapt monitoring or consider preventive measures within the relevant early-pregnancy window.
MaiRa supports risk stratification and clinical decision-making; it does not diagnose preeclampsia. Its approach comes from the PREMOM study, which collected more than 26,000 samples from roughly 9,600 pregnant women across 14 hospitals and was used to develop and internally validate the predictive model.
The workflow connects pregnant patients, obstetricians and clinics that collect samples with iPremom’s laboratory and analysis service. The company says MaiRa is available in Spain under prescription, while its broader predictive-prenatal platform remains in development to address additional complications.
