Ground A secures €9.1m pre-seed to industrialize its counter-drone system
The German defence startup will prepare its GA 1000 mobile laser system for series production after completing the prototype phase.
Detect, track and leave engagement to an operator
Ground A’s GA 1000 combines radar and other sensors with computer vision and AI to detect, classify and track small drones. It can direct a high-energy laser toward a tracked threat, while a human operator retains the decision to engage; the system is designed to connect with existing air-defence and command systems.
The €9.1 million pre-seed will fund industrialization of the GA 1000 and preparation for series production, as Ground A expands manufacturing capacity and builds a broader counter-drone and air-defence platform. The company says the prototype phase is complete and testing and validation are underway ahead of market launch, with modular production in Germany planned.
