NVIDIA plans investment in quantum error-correction company Riverlane
The Cambridge-founded company also collaborates with NVIDIA on faster decoder calibration.
Planned strategic investment
NVIDIA named Riverlane among its planned startup investments on October 13, 2026. Investment terms and a closing date were not disclosed.
Riverlane builds hardware and software that identify and correct errors in quantum computations. In a separate technical collaboration described on October 14, the companies are exploring accelerated computing for decoder calibration: updating the settings used to interpret noisy quantum hardware. Faster calibration could reduce time spent tuning a quantum computer between useful computations.
