GeoDreams raises pre-Series A funding for closed-loop geothermal
The Japanese energy startup is developing a sealed-pipe system intended to recover underground heat while reducing drilling cost and project timelines.
Developing geothermal without extracting underground fluids
GeoDreams circulates water through sealed underground piping to collect heat, avoiding direct extraction of natural steam or hot water. Alongside power-generation technology, the company provides geothermal well maintenance and logging services, including mineral-scale removal. Its roadmap calls for a closed-loop demonstration in 2030 and a first commercial power project in 2031.
Use of funds
Develop and demonstrate closed-loop geothermal power and exploration/drilling technology
Build technical hiring and development capabilities for 2030 commercialization
