Recovering underground heat through sealed pipes

GeoDreams is developing a closed-loop geothermal system that circulates water through sealed underground piping to collect heat. Its engineering work addresses drilling cost and development time, two major obstacles to making such projects commercially viable.

The Tokyo company also provides geothermal well-maintenance and logging services, including technology for removing mineral scale. Its development roadmap calls for a closed-loop demonstration in 2030 and a first commercial power project in 2031, starting at small scale before expanding at the same site.
