Dynamic Creatures pairs expressive character designs with mobile robotic platforms and SnowJay, its operating system for movement, perception and behavior. The system is designed to read guest reactions and adapt a robot’s gestures and responses in crowded public settings such as theme parks, resorts and cruise ships.
The company says it is Boston Dynamics’ exclusive entertainment and hospitality partner and is beginning pilots with enterprise partners. Its seed funding amount was not disclosed; the capital will support software and hardware engineering, robotics and behavior-programming teams, and initial market pilots.
