Dream emerges from stealth with $17m seed for building-design AI
Andreessen Horowitz leads the seed financing for models that generate coordinated building plans.
Dream has emerged from stealth with $17 million in seed funding led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), with participation from SV Angel, XYZ and Zigg Capital. Founders Andy Elder and Arjun Mathur previously worked together at Palantir.
The company develops AI models for the built environment, generating designs that account for structural requirements, construction codes and systems such as plumbing and HVAC. Its training material covers more than 100 million square feet of building data gathered from US permit archives.
Dream is already selling to architecture, engineering and construction professionals and developers. At launch, it reported ten active projects in California and Texas, where customers use the platform to explore building concepts and estimate costs.
